Monday, July 12th, 2010

In Mark Oser’s world, light is art, and the most important design element in a house. A trained painter, he prefers white walls to showcase canvases and sculptures, and dramatic lighting to highlight the architectural details of his 6,000-square-foot modern home in Holland.

It’s not your typical Bucks County fare, but that’s not why clients in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Florida call on Oser, an interior designer for 20 years who now does many design/build projects.

His own home features glass for staircases, stainless steel for curved walls, granite for floors, and open spaces for paintings that make it feel like a modern museum or a slick movie set. A comfortable one, though.

“My main goal was to create an ultramodern [house], but warm at the same time,” says Oser, 44. “I softened all of the hard materials with warm lighting, thick carpets, and warm touches of Read More

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

One of the most important factors that affect the home environment is indoor lighting, because it can affect our daily life in different degree. Different forms of illumination can affect an object’s image, its tone as well as the impression that they leave behind. Lighting can create or destroy the atmosphere of indoor environment.

The mission of the modern Interior Designers

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

When I was a young boy, I was sitting on the table and I was sketching my room in many different ways. I was drawing my dreams about places I wanted to live in. It was my secret world in which I could feel safe and happy.

Pursuit of the shelters is a part of our human being from the first moment of our lives.

Our first home is mother’s womb where abide before we born. Next, mother’s arms and cosy cot are shelter places we ‘live’ in. As children we build tree houses, secret tents or arrange private, mysterious places for dreaming or escapes.  Finally we build our houses for our families and next generation.

Idea of shelter places is not a matter of time it is a matter of existence.  From the dawn of the history people were looking for shelters. At the beginning it could be cave or den; next we started to build simple cots and hut using natural materials like branches and leaves. After ages of changes and hundreds of different ways of house building, Read More

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Whether you’re going in for old school type of interior design, modern motifs or just whatever it is that you like, you can’t go far wrong in this day and age. That is of course unless you opt to completely mismatch colors and motifs. That said, if you’re a wild-child and like doing the extraordinary, you’ll be okay with these funny color schemes.
